What do I know?

The way you look may say something about you or it may not,
It may say something about a moment in your life or it may not,
It is too easy for me to fill those blanks with a chosen judgement, so I should not.

I will only know you when we take time to share our truths,
And even then, I’ll mostly just know how you make me feel,
My own bias says more about me than it says about you.

All I am to see is a person
who has the right to be here just like me
who has feelings, emotions and opinions,
just like me.

You have something to offer
You may be going through something
You may have certain boundaries in place.

There may be truths you still need to discover,
There may be truths I still need to discover,
There may be things we are not yet ready to give or not yet ready to achieve.

Let’s keep our minds open and wonder,
Because together we are here
And all I know is that life = beauty.
