This little creature is the light
Deserving only vibrant sparks
To continue floating, feeling proud
Sadly… surrounded by a darkness
My worst nightmare to be his cloud
Powerless, being the prisoner and the guard
There has to be a choice for freedom
I just can’t seem to catch it
And keep tearing everything apart
Blinded by tears and weakening fears
To waste our days and the magic life could be
I let this shadow in the dark
Fall over you, extinguish your spark
But what if… Next to terrifying darkness
I am more than just the shadows
A warm embrace, an encouragement of dreams
You get to plunge and to fly, to love and to breathe
Please forgive my nightmares and my clouds
I know I’ll fall from time to time
I promise to keep trying, I’ll hold on
When storms settle down and clouds disappear
My grief also gives me power
A newfound peace, finally some freedom
Here for me and for us, to lift you up and to inspire
You are the light
But I was light once too
I’ll find it back
It’s what mothers do
